MESSAGE FROM THE REGISTRAR

Mr. Nyamutale Peter

Dear Colleagues,Stakeholders and the Public

On behalf of the Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC), I extend warm greetings. As the corporate body established under the Allied Health Professionals Act Cap. 296, our primary mandate is clear: to regulate, supervise, and control the training and practice of Allied Health Professionals across Uganda. Our existence is fundamentally about protecting the public.

We achieve this by meticulously maintaining and annually publishing up-to-date registers in the Uganda Gazette for:

  1. Registered and Licensed Professionals
  2. Private Health Units
  3. Recognized Training Institutions

I strongly encourage all employers and the general public to consistently refer to these official registers. This vital due diligence is your defense against illegal practitioners and non-recognized health training institutions.

The scope of professions we regulate to practice in Uganda is extensive, and we are delighted to see growing interest from more professionals seeking to be registered. The Council, in collaboration with our stakeholders, is fully committed to ensuring that all eligible applicants are registered and licensed prior to practice within Uganda.

Simplified Registration and Licensing: To enhance accessibility and convenience, I encourage all professionals and applicants to utilize the services offered by the office of the Regional Allied Health Supervisors (RAHS) also supported by District Allied Health Supervisors (DAHS) across the country for registration and licensing purposes.

Furthermore, we currently offer online services. We implore you to inquire with our Regional Supervisors, who are ready to guide you through the process of digital registration and licensing.

Together, let us maintain the highest standards of professional practice and safeguard the well-being of the Ugandan populace.
